I create bootable USB drives for all kinds of things, recovery, fresh installs, and development to name a few. I always find myself back using Rufus to get the job done super quick and easy. I use this tool on a frequent basis.
Rufus is a utility that helps format and create bootable USB flash drives, such as USB keys/pendrives, memory sticks, etc.
It can be especially useful for cases where:
- you need to create USB installation media from bootable ISOs (Windows, Linux, UEFI, etc.)
- you need to work on a system that doesn’t have an OS installed
- you need to flash a BIOS or other firmware from DOS
- you want to run a low-level utility
Despite its small size, Rufus provides everything you need!
Rufus prides itself on being the fastest of all the boot drive creation tools. You can see in the stats that it does make very short work on installing ISO’s to the drive and setting up the boot sectors. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
